Allain Baldo PhD, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Baldo completed is Ph.D. in the Department of Cardiology at the Royal Victoria Hospital in 1993 under the supervision of Dr Allan D. Sniderman. His research focused on the regulation of lipid handling and metabolism in the context of atherosclerotic disease. He completed his medical degree at McGill University in 1997 where he was also the executive editor and founder of the McGill Journal of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency training at McMaster University in Hamilton. Dr. Baldo moved on to a fellowship year in general internal medicine with a main focus in the field of venous thrombosis at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Baldo balances his practice between outpatient investigation, management and risk factor modification of cardiovascular disease and inpatient critical and coronary care at the Montfort Hospital. Dr. Baldo is also active in the field on thrombosis with a keen interest in the management of primary veno-thromboembolic disease and the work-up of thrombophilias.

Outside of medicine Dr. Baldo is a true adventure enthusiast. He regularly undertakes expedition style trekking, mountain biking and extreme altitude mountaineering trips to remote areas of the globe.
