The Ottawa Cardiovascular Centre offers comprehensive continuing cardiovascular care for a broad range of cardiovascular conditions to a registered patient population of over 120,000 patients with over 25,000 active patients. Originally founded in 1987 by Drs. Joel Niznick and Brendan Quinn, we have grown to an eight-cardiologist group including one pediatric cardiologist. As well, we have integrated three internists and two part time endocrinologists into the practice to deal with the broader aspects of cardiovascular prevention and disease management. We provide cardiology consultation, cardiovascular risk assessment and on site cardiovascular non-invasive testing at two private outpatient sites. We are seeking to add one to two additional non-invasive cardiologists. An interest in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention, Heart Disease in Special Populations (Women, Elderly, Renal Diabetic patients) and expertise in Stress Echo is desirable. The successful candidate will have l access to all the above resources and will be proposed for hospital privileges at either the Montfort Hospital, a community based teaching hospital with a predominantly Francophone population or the Ottawa General and Riverside Sites of the Ottawa Hospital, major academic health facility sites with an in-patient focus on Nephrology, Oncology and Critical Care and outpatient focus on Women’s Health, Nephrology and Diabetes. Bilingualism is an asset for either in-patient site.
Private office responsibilities will include 3-4 half-day clinics including coverage of Stress tests, Persantine and Stress Nuclear TMT supervision, echo-Doppler, Holter, ECG, etc. Ample teaching opportunities exist both within the hospital and office setting. Please respond in confidence to:
